Leading the Parade
If I came back from Spring vacation to Ames Elementary School in Dedham and announed that I had been at the front of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Principal Frank Liddell would have called an assembly and the whole school would have listened in rapt silence while I told the whole story…
What an exciting day! I rode in a bus full of reporters from all over the world at the head of the parade as we passed through all of Dublin. There were about 1,500 people in the parade and more than 500,000 turned out to watch.
I’m sure they were all wondering, “What’s that guy doing there?”
