In Dublin’s Fair City, Where Girls Are So Pretty
Arrived in Dublin at five a.m. this morning and settled in the the Hotel Fitzwilliam for a much-needed nap. Reminded me of my grandmother’s little joke about Patrick Fitzwilliam and William Fitzpatrick. Anyway the girls are might pretty here.
This evening we had a splendid dinner at the hotel and went to see the Kilfenora Ceili Band at the National Concert Hall. They were marvelous — jigs, reels, hornpipes, lays, airs, you name it. And they’re all having so much fun!
Tomorrow I’ll be in a bus with a bunch of writers from around the world at the head of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Five hundred thousand people are expected.
