Exactement Comme Il Faut
We had a splendid time in Montreal yesterday. We went to the Otto Dix exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts and the Lantern Festival at the Botanical Garden and then dined European style (9:30!) at Garde Manger in the Old Town. I had strips of bison steak with an egg on top and pate de foie gras on top of that, then bacon with scallops. Magnifique.
The battery ran out on my camera, but believe it or not, I actually remembered to charge the spare one. (Savor little triumphs.)
After a relaxing morning off, we took the train to Quebec and are now ensconced at the Chateau Laurier where everything is exactement comme if faut. The wifi, the gym and the sauna are free and tonight we dine with Paule Bergeron from Quebec City Tourism.

Just had to say a quick hello and I’ll be back.
I live in Montreal and am planning to see Otto Dix — nothing like garishness and fangs to stir my own writing pot — a German novel taking place eons before Dix — circa 1869 — family saga which truncates from Europe’s angst at the beginning of WWI to resume in Montreal, then back to Berlin when no one in his or her right mind ought to return.
I found you because I am about to blog about Grace Metallious. And her famous “plaid/lumberjack” shirt. My Tonka, Beanie, sends Eisenmeower her kind regards.
